In creating a piece of jewelry, it usually starts as an experiment. Many people draw out and plan what they are going to make. I, on the contrary, use the skills and knowledge I have to fulfill an image in my head. When inspiration strikes, there is no stopping the creating that can happen. Using high quality materials has yielded amazing results. The high quality of metals and beads used in my work reflect my personal style and love of beauty.
I am currently working on expanding my metalworking horizons. Recently, I took a class from an enamel artist, Lillian Jones, and have fallen in love with enamels. Like painting, enamels add color and depth to already lovely metal. I believe that enamels should be accessible to everyone, even the beginners with no kiln. I have been working exclusively with enamels that are torch fired and have yielded beautiful results. (www.erinbrowndesigns.net)
